Exclusion Period

A period of time the insurance company will withhold benefits for any pre-existing conditions.  This will typically range from 30 days to indefinite.  You will also see an exclusion period on disability plans; this is referring to the amount of time after an accident or illness, which will have to take place before the insurance company will start to pay disability claims.
