Explanation of Benefits (EOB)

A notice sent from the health insurance company to the insured breaking down the resolution of a submitted claim.

Listed on the EOB you should find such information as: name of services provided, total amount billed, amount paid by the health insurance company and any remaining costs that are the insured's responsibility.
